HISTORY

The IKAROS Radio-taxi Company was founded in 1978. It was one of the first radio-taxi companies formed in Athens by several professional taxi-drivers. The aim was to provide improvement in transportation to the public and the adjustment of the Greek taxi-driver profession to European standards.

The effort was well and enthusiastically accepted by the public and especially by physically disabled and elderly people, but also by companies, hotels and generally everybody who wished to have high quality service.

In 1989 our company was technologically up-dated due to the growing demand, therefore, services were improved even further.

In 1997 our company was modernized further. The company center became automatic and the whole job is now done through computers. With this system more calls can be served, ensuring maximum speed in the reception and completion of a call.

Since summer 1998 online reservation devices have been installed by IKAROS in major Athens hotels.
